Pioneer High Speed DVD-R Issue affects Apple's SuperDrive

According to this ExtremeTech article Pioneer Electronics is warning its customers that DVD media designed to new high-speed specifications may damage a number of its DVD-RW/R drives. Apple's SuperDrive is based on Pioneer models DVR-A03, DVR-103, DVR-A04 and DVR-104. Pioneer has posted a firmware update for Windows. The Apple SuperDrive firmware update will be released through Apple. [Dana Baggett]
