Apple Q3 Financials--$109.4 Billion Revenue, Up 16%, on Record iPhone, Mac and Services
Apple reported its fiscal third quarter on July 30: revenue of $109.4 billion, up 16 percent from a year ago, diluted earnings of $2.02 per share, up 29 percent, and a gross margin of 50.1 percent, according to Apple's press release. Both margin and EPS got a lift from tariff refunds, about two percentage points and $0.11 respectively, which Apple called out in the same release.
iPhone, Mac and Services each set a June-quarter revenue record, and every geographic segment grew by double digits. "Today, Apple is proud to report our strongest June quarter ever," said CEO Tim Cook, in what turned out to be his last earnings release in the job. CFO Kevan Parekh said the installed base of active devices hit a new all-time high in every major product category. Net income was $29.8 billion per MacRumors. The board declared a $0.27 dividend payable August 13.
The full numbers are in the Form 8-K filed with the SEC the same day, with the press release attached as Exhibit 99.1. 9to5Mac and CNBC have the conference-call color.
A record Mac quarter with no new Mac hardware shipped in it says the M4 lineup kept selling on its own. With the M5 Mac Studio shipping September 22 and whatever today's event brings, the September quarter has a higher bar to clear. [Macs Only!]
